The Path to Professional Growth
An ADN provides foundational knowledge and skills, but many leading nursing roles require a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. A RIC BSN provides opportunities for increased earning potential, flexibility, autonomy, and an expanded ability to impact patients and the profession. Additionally, a BNS is generally required to apply to graduate programs, which provide paths to roles such as Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Anesthetist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Nurse Faculty.
Why RN to BSN? | Why Our Program?
- All RN to BSN nursing courses are offered fully online, providing working nurses with the flexibility to balance career and education. Students requiring general education courses may enroll in traditional in-person courses or may transfer approved credits from another institution.
- You'll apply to RIC as a transfer student to receive credit for previous nursing courses and to apply work experiences to support learning – no traditional clinical rotations required.
- Students can enroll in Fall or Spring and complete program in as little as one year.
- Nursing RN to BSN curriculum focuses on areas such as Evidence Based Practice, nursing leadership, healthcare finance, person-centered care, community and public health, contemporary nursing issues, innovation and quality improvement. View a Sample Plan of Study.
