Peer Mentor Program

Nursing students who have completed one year of the nursing program can volunteer to mentor new students (mentees) who have just been accepted and are taking beginning-level courses. Mentors and mentees meet face to face, virtual or through email, texts or by phone during the semester. Many mentees keep in touch with their mentors following the completion of their first year and become mentors themselves. To learn more, contact Jena Lerch or Christina Raposo

Peer Tutor Program

In the Peer Tutor Program, fellow nursing students provide free tutoring in nursing content for students who need extra help in nursing classes. Tutoring can be individual or in groups; it is private, confidential and offered by virtual appointment through the Academic Success Center. Contact Jena Lerch with questions or get more details on tutorial services.

Office of Academic Support Tutoring Program

Additional academic support is available through Rhode Island College's Office of Academic Support. This office has a strong team of dedicated tutors who are trained to help students identify learning needs, develop strategies that will result in effective study habits and build successful techniques for continued progress and excellence in their studies.
