Financial Aid in 4 Steps
- Obtain a Letter of Approval from the Director of Study Abroad: The director will then email approval to travel abroad to the Registrar's Office and the Office of Financial Aid.
- Make a List of Your Estimated Expenses: You must submit a budget (a list of estimated expenses) to the Office of Student Financial Aid. Your budget should include the cost of tuition, fees, housing, food, books, transportation while abroad, plane tickets and any other miscellaneous expenses.
- Fill Out the Authorization of Credit Form: This form is needed to ensure the credits you are taking abroad will transfer to RIC. You can pick up the form in the Registrar's Office or download it here. One form is needed for each class that you intend to take abroad. The original copy of each form should be submitted to the director of study abroad. The director will then send copies to the Office of Financial Aid and the Registrar's Office. No aid can be awarded until the Registrar's Office enters your study abroad credits into the system.
- Fill Out the Consortium Agreement Form: This form can be found in the Office of Financial Aid or downloaded here. You must have your program provider or host institution fill out this form and mail it to the Office of Financial Aid. How to Complete the Consortium Agreement may assist you in filling out the form.
