Evaluation of Teacher Candidates' Classroom Performance
Teacher Candidate Evaluation Process
The Feinstein School evaluates TCs' classroom performance using the Danielson Model as interpreted by the Rhode Island Innovations Consortium Educator Evaluation (process. The consortium developed the instrument we use and abbreviate that name to RI-ICEE). This instrument addresses the many facets of classroom instruction and is also used by some of the largest school districts in RI, and many others use the closely related Rhode Island Model.
This instrument was adopted on Spring 2018 for student teaching evaluation and will be used in Fall 2018 for the practicum experience. In Fall 2018, programs will collaborate to determine which of the 34 elements are relevant across all programs and which are particularly important to their specific program.
