Fraternity and Sorority Life at RIC is dedicated to enhancing student development and the overall collegiate experience of its fraternity and sorority members.

Benefits to Joining an Organization

Leadership, scholarship, service and friendship for life are some of the many benefits of joining a fraternity or sorority. No matter what organization you may join, members participate in programs that encourage academic success, offer opportunities to serve the community, lead their peers and develop deep friendships. Membership in a fraternity or sorority lasts a lifetime, and members tend to have higher GPAs, are more likely to graduate, and develop a sense of belonging in their organizations and at the college!

How to Join

You must have a 2.25 GPA to be eligible to participate, but some fraternities and sororities require a higher GPA to join.

This requirement may be waived if you have a documented disability registered with the Center for Disability Access. Contact them for more information.

If this is your first semester at Rhode Island College, you may need to submit your transcript from your last school to the Student Engagement & Leadership Development to participate.
