Mandatory Annual Compliance Training for Faculty and Staff
All employees are required to complete annual compliance training that safeguards us, our students and our data.
Why is This Required?
The reason(s) for requiring compliance training varies based on the training topic. More specifics are provided for each training RIC requires.
Understand the Yearly Training Cycle
- All courses will be available for employees to complete starting July 1 each year.
- Work with your Supervisor to determine when you should dedicate time to take these courses.
- It is mandatory that all staff and faculty members finish specific training modules by September 29, annually.
Annual Trainings
Information Security Awareness Training
Information Security Awareness Training is mandatory because several federal regulations require all organizations, including RIC, to implement a formal security awareness training program for all employees. Protect college and personal data and ensure the highest quality of security every day by practicing behaviors identified in these online modules. Information Security Awareness training is hosted on the KnowBe4 platform.
How to Access the Training
You will receive email instructions from do-not-reply@ric.edu (RIC Security Awareness Trainer) asking you to log in to KnowBe4 - where you can use your RIC SSO account (example: flastname_1234@ric.edu). You will need to complete the following trainings:
- Workplace/Physical Security – All Employees (5 min)
- Social Engineering – All Employees (30 min, 3 modules)
- Reporting Phishing – All Employees (5 min)
Total Minutes: 40
