The BA-to-MA option in psychology is a 30-credit program leading to a graduate degree. In the BA-to-MA in psychology program, you will develop an understanding of psychological theory and principles and the scientific method of inquiry and data analysis. You will also become critical consumers of psychological literature and be able to conduct independent research.

Applying to the Program

If you are an undergraduate student currently enrolled at Rhode Island College, you may apply for conditional admission to the MA in psychology program after completing 60 undergraduate credits. The GRE General Exam will be waived if you have a 3.0 GPA overall and if you have grades of B or higher in all the courses required for admission to the MA program.

Once you have completed 90 undergraduate credits along with the coursework required for admission and the 47x lab requirement, you may begin taking graduate courses in psychology. If you remain in good standing and continue to meet admission requirements upon completion of your undergraduate degree, you are changed to full admission to the MA program.
