Mathematics Award
Christopher R. Mitchell Award in Mathematics
The Christopher R. Mitchell Award in Mathematics was established on Sept. 15, 1988. The winner of this award is selected by the department chair in consultation with the Departmental Advisory Committee, according to the following criteria. The winner must:
- be a senior mathematics or secondary education mathematics major working on their first degree
- have completed at least 60 credits at Rhode Island College
- have a GPA of at least 3.5 in courses counting towards the mathematics major
- have at least a 2.67 (B-) overall GPA
Preference will be given to students who participate in activities within the Department of Mathematical Sciences or in equivalent professional activities.
