Mathematical Studies M.A.

The M.A. in mathematical studies provides a solid foundation in some of the major areas of mathematics, an appreciation for the structures and theories of advanced mathematics and a deeper understanding of the role of mathematics in the world.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the Mathematical Studies M.A. you will have extended your undergraduate background to include graduate-level mathematics in core areas. You will have mathematical knowledge enabling you to:
- solve problems and prove theorems
- reason quantitatively and abstractly
- use mathematics as a computational and analytical tool
- convey graduate-level mathematics
