Dr. Lorén M. Spears will present "Roger Williams's A Key Into the Language of America: An Indigenous Perspective."

Lorén M. Spears is an enrolled Narragansett Tribal Nation citizen and Executive Director of Tomaquag Museum. She holds a Master's in Education and received a Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa in 2017, from the University of Rhode Island and Doctor of Education, Honoris Causa from Roger Williams University in 2021. She is an author, artist and shares her cultural knowledge with the public.

Dr. Spears was a co-editor of the Tomaquog Museum's A Key into the Language of America (1643), and will present "An Indigenous Perspective" on the historical document by Roger Williams. 

This lecture is part of the Native Heritage Speaker Series at RIC and sponsored by the Committee on College Lectures.
