College Leadership

Rhode Island College is the state's first and oldest institution of public higher education, founded in 1854. It is overseen by the President of Rhode Island College, who reports to the Rhode Island Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner (RIOPC).

The RIOPC is the administrative arm of the Rhode Island Council on Postsecondary Education, which provides oversight and governance for RIC and the Community College of Rhode Island.

Dr. Jack R. Warner, appointed Interim President of Rhode Island College on July 1, 2022, will be officially inaugurated as RIC’s 11th president on November 15, 2024. The president presides over an executive cabinet comprised of the vice presidents of various offices and divisions throughout the college, as well as other high-ranking members of the college's academic leadership and professional staff. The Office of the President is overseen by a chief of staff.
