What We Do

Programs within the Department of Counseling, Educational Leadership, and School Psychology prepare graduate students to be Licensed Mental Health Counselors and School Psychologists.

We Offer

  • An M.S in clinical mental health counseling, which prepares students for licensure as mental health counselors.
  • An M.A./C.A.G.S. in school psychology, which prepares students for certification as school psychologists.
  • A C.G.S. in advanced counseling, which gives those who have already earned a master's degree in counseling or a related field the additional coursework they need to satisfy the state’s academic requirements for licensure.

School Psychology Program

The School Psychology Program is nationally recognized by the National Association of School Psychologists and was approved “with distinction” by the Rhode Island Department of Education. Our well-trained graduates have a 100% pass rate on the School Psychology PRAXIS exam, with an average performance consistently exceeding the required passing score.

RIC's Clinical Mental Health Counseling is nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) from 2016-2024. CACREP accredited.
