Scholarships for Service

Complete 300 hours of community service and receive a $1,000 education award!

Outside LinkScholarships for Service (SFS) is an AmeriCorps Education Award program that engages college students committed to service; these students complete a minimum of 300 hours in exchange for a $1,000 Education Award. SFS is administered by Rhode Island Campus Compact, through generous financial support from the RI Service Alliance, and involves institutions of higher education throughout the state. Member campuses in Rhode Island have a deep committment to the value of service in education and to fulfilling their public trust by graduating people who are active participants in civic life.

Students who successfully complete the program (by serving 300 hours and meeting general program requirements) are eligible to receive an AmeriCorps Education Award. Education Awards can be used to repay qualified student loans, to pay all of part of the cost of attending a qualified institution of higher education, or to pay expenses incurred while participating in approved school-to-work programs.
