Students Seeking Volunteers

Connecting Students with Disabilities

Seeking Assistance with Student Volunteers

The RIC Disability Services and Career Development Centers are happy to introduce a method for students with disabilities who are in need of assistance to connect with students looking for volunteer opportunities.

This service was developed in response to the many students in the incoming classes of 2015 and 2016 who asked during the RIC Summer Orientation programs and the RIC Fall Open House if there were ways that they could volunteer to help students with disabilities. We were so impressed by the number of students asking this question, that we felt compelled to put together a method for those needing help to connect with those wanting to give help.

How does this work?

The student needing assistance can post this need as a job opportunity using the Career Development Center's Outside LinkDestinations website by filling out a Disability Services Center Microsoft WordJob Information Form. The Job can be listed as a volunteer or paid position. However, if payment is to be offered, the student seeking assistance is responsible for paying the person who is hired.

The completed Job Information Form should be returned to the Disability Services Center or the Career Development Center. Please be sure to provide us with your contact information so we may contact you with any questions about the job.

Any interested volunteers may then contact the Student seeking assistance directly via the contact information given on the Job Information Form.

If you would like assistance in completing this form, please stop by or call the Disability Services Center. You can also find a completed Adobe PDFsample Job Information Form by clicking here.
