Freshman Orientation

Welcome Class of 2018!

Orientation is your introduction to academic and social life as a new student at Rhode Island College. You will learn about the people, programs, and services that will make your college career more rewarding. There will be discussion groups and special programming with faculty, students, and staff. There are plenty of opportunities to socialize and get to know your fellow classmates.

A very important part of orientation is academic advisement and registration for your fall classes. You will receive academic advisement from our faculty and staff advisors and you will be assisted by highly skilled and trained upperclassmen, your Student Peer Counselors.

The Office of Academic Support & Information Services (OASIS) organizes and coordinates new student orientation. In addition, OASIS partners with Student Affairs in order to provide you with the perfect combination of academic and social experiences for your orientation program.
