Terms beginning with 'J'

JPEG file. An image format developed specifically to hold photograph-like images. This format is the correct choice for large images with subtle colors, but it provides no transparency and will make text or line-drawings blocky and fuzzy.

An appropriate alternative for simpler images is either the GIF or PNG format.

Java is a programming language which can be used to develop content designed to run inside a web page. Such content is called an Applet.
