Mission & Vision


In accordance with Mission of the School of Nursing, the mission at the Rhode Island College School of Nursing Resource Lab is to prepare students for the professional nursing practice in order to provide safe, high quality and equitable health care for all people. The Nursing Resource Laboratory plays a vital role in enhancing students’ preparedness to practice through experiential approach including simulation that combines faculty-directed and independent learning. We are committed to promoting quality and safety to improve health care outcomes by facilitating safe, efficient, and effective nursing practice through active learning in a safe environment. The lab also serves as a resource to faculty by providing multimedia and audiovisuals including videos, task trainers, computers and simulation that contribute to faculty development and enhance and facilitate teaching as well as the student learning experience.


Preparing beginning nursing practitioners to meet the health care needs of clients is an ongoing process. The nursing lab is place of innovative learning that strives to stay in line with the new technology as it arises. We provide state of the art patient care technologies, information systems and communication systems to facilitate safe, efficient and quality care in accordance to the national Patient Safety goals.
