Early Childhood

The Sherlock Center provides training and consultative services to the early childhood community to help all young children achieve positive developmental, social/emotional and learning outcomes in inclusive early care and education centers and schools. The Sherlock Center believes that children with all disabilities can be happily and successfully included in their community early childhood programs.

Sherlock Center initiatives support children with: social emotional disabilities, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dual sensory impairments, vision impairments, hearing impairments, and low incidence disabilities. Consultation and workshops are designed to meet the specific needs of the individual child and family within his/her current program as well as to support staff in feeling competent and effective.

Sherlock Center initiatives also support programs in the development of environments that foster; positive nurturing relationships, high quality learning environments, simple evidenced based strategies that teach essential lifelong social emotional skills. Building on the philosophy that all behavior is communication, experienced staff is available to lead the process of individual functional behavioral analysis and the development of inclusive positive behavior support plans.

Topical workshops and/or hourly consultation services are available on a fee for service basis.
