Undergraduate Special Education Programs offered in Rhode Island


Rhode Island College



Established in 1854, Rhode Island College is now the state's principal urban public institution of higher learning. RIC offers 3 nationally recognized undergraduate programs in special education:

Providence College


A Dominican institution of higher education founded in 1917 by the Bishop of the Diocese of Providence. PC offers an Elementary/Special Education Program.

Salve Regina University


A Catholic college of the arts and sciences established in 1934 and located in Newport. Salve Regina offers an Elementary/Special Education Program.

Community College of Rhode Island


Established by the General Assembly in 1960, CCRI offers general education courses thet may transfer into other colleges in RI. CCRI also offers a Teacher Assistant Certification Program and an Associate Degree in Special Education designed for Teacher Assistants and related service personnel.
