Freshman Orientation

Orientation Team 2015

Welcome Class of 2019!

Orientation is your introduction to academic and social life as a new student at Rhode Island College.  You will learn about the people, programs, and services that will make your college career more rewarding.  There will be discussion groups and special programming with faculty, students, and staff.  There are plenty of opportunities to socialize and get to know your fellow classmates.

A very important part of orientation is academic advisement and registration for your fall classes.  You will receive academic advisement from our faculty and staff advisors and you will be assisted by highly skilled and trained upperclassmen, your Orientation Leaders.

The Office of Academic Support & Information Services (OASIS) organizes and coordinates new student orientation. In addition, OASIS partners with Student Affairs in order to provide you with the perfect combination of academic and social experiences for your orientation program.

What will you do at orientation?

  • Meet with faculty and staff advisors
  • Learn about student services
  • Meet new people and make friends
  • Participate in discussion groups and social activities
  • Select and register for fall classes
  • Discover the campus
  • Receive your official Campus ID Card

Congratulations on your acceptance to RIC! We look forward to seeing you in June.

To schedule your orientation, you will need a registration number which appears on your invitation letter. Please do not schedule your orientation cycle until you receive your letter inviting you to orientation or your registration will be voided.
