RIC’s Bannister Gallery to receive education association award

Rhode Island College’s Bannister Gallery has been chosen as the Rhode Island Art Education Association’s 2010 Distinguished Friends of Art Education recipient.

In a letter to Bannister’s director, James Montford, RIAEA president Susanne Suprock thanked Bannister on behalf of the RIAEA, the state’s art teachers and the middle and high school students who had the opportunity to showcase their art in a professional gallery.

“Because of your support and hospitality the RIC Scholastics Art awards have been a wonderful success,” added Suprock.

Bannister Gallery will be honored at the fall RIAEA Awards Ceremony, which will take place at The Roger Williams Museum of Natural History on Monday, Oct. 19, from 6-8:30 p.m.
