RIC Foundation Report
RIC FoundationI am very pleased to inform you that since my last report in What’s News notifying the RIC community that scholarships would be unavailable for the upcoming academic year due to the decrease in value of our Foundation’s assets, several individuals have stepped forward and supported this initiative in the amount needed to cover particular scholarships for 2009-10.
Special appreciation is extended to the following donors who have either made an outright gift or have authorized the Foundation to withdraw a portion of their endowment’s principal to fund their 2009/2010 scholarship or award:
Betty M. Challgren ’65, MAT ’69 – Betty M. Challgren Scholarship in Elementary Education
Dorothy Marciniak – Francis M. Marciniak Scholarship in Music Education
Alan Shawn Feinstein – Feinstein Junior Leadership Scholarships, Feinstein School of Education Endowment, and Feinstein Institute for Philanthropic Leadership
Dr. John A. Bucci – Bucci Family Faculty Award
Anonymous donor – Peter Harman Scholarship
Edna Snow – Edna Snow ’77 Scholarship
Olga O’Brien ’45 – Olga O’Brien ’45 Scholarship
Michael & Stephen Sweet – Harold D. Sweet Gerontology Award
Ann Sherlock – Paul V. Sherlock Scholarship
The generosity of these donors helps enable the Foundation to fulfill its mission of obtaining the support needed to enhance the College’s continued tradition of educational excellence.
