North Providence Mayor Charles Lombardi, RIC President Nancy Carriuolo and RI Chief of Veterans’ Affairs Daniel Evangelista are scheduled to attend a POW/MIA flag raising ceremony at Rhode Island College.

The POW/MIA flag is a symbol of citizen concern about U.S. military personnel taken as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action.

Rolling Thunder® Inc. is a national advocacy group that seeks to bring accountability for POWs and MIAs, as well as to provide support for the families of U.S. military personnel who have not returned home from service.

In 2014, Rolling Thunder® Inc., RI Chapter 1 began its effort to increase public installations of POW/MIA memorials.
