 All-Little East Conference

RIC student Sam Nolte

Providence, R.I. – Rhode Island College senior defender Sam Nolte (Cranston, R.I.) was named Second Team All-Little East Conference for her performance in women’s lacrosse this season.

Nolte, who earned All-Little East honors for the second straight season, was one of five Anchorwomen to start in all 15 games for RIC this year. She totaled one goal and one assist for three points to go along with a team-high 57 ground balls, a team-high 33 caused turnovers and 18 draw controls.

The Anchorwomen led the Little East Conference in ground balls thanks in large part to Nolte, who ranked third in the league with 3.8 ground balls per game. She also ranked third in the conference with 2.2 draw controls per game.

Head Coach Crystal Labossiere’s team finished the 2014 season with a 7-8 overall record and a 1-5 (sixth place) mark in the Little East. The seven wins were the most for the program since 2005.

Sixth-seeded Rhode Island College fell to third-seeded Plymouth State, 17-5, in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Little East Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament on April 29.
