The 2013-14 Shinn Study Abroad Scholarship Recipients

Six Rhode Island College students were honored during a recent reception as the 2013-14 Shinn Study Abroad scholarship recipients. 

Maintained by the Rhode Island College Foundation, the Ridgway F. Shinn Study Abroad Fund supports undergraduate students in planned study outside the United States. Grants are available for students who plan to study abroad for three to 24 months.

The six students awarded this year are as follows, with destination countries in parentheses: Maria Gonzalez (Barcelona, Spain), Irina Maglysh (Tübingen, Germany), Alicia Gutauskas (Costa Rica), Rachel Riendeau (Peru and Guatemala), Janessa Frias (Granada, Spain) and Michaela Busse (Florence, Italy).

These scholars also serve as ambassadors of Rhode Island College to the international community.
