Eight RIC Student-Athletes Named to Conference All-Academic Team
The Little East Conference office recently announced the honorees for the 2012-13 Winter All-Academic teams. Eight Rhode Island College student-athletes were selected.
Recognition was based on the following criteria: the student-athlete had to be at least a sophomore in good academic and athletic standing and had to have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3. The following sports were recognized: men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s indoor track and field and women’s swimming and diving.
RIC honorees were:
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Junior Stephanie Prusko (Lincoln, RI), sophomore Megan Sewall (Portsmouth, RI) and senior Alexia Vega (North Providence, RI).
MEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD: Junior Tom DeCristofaro (Smithfield, RI), senior Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) and junior Cameron Richer (Woonsocket, RI).
WOMEN’S SWIMMING: Junior Sophie Kanno (Cranston, RI) and sophomore Kristen Wilkinson (North Providence, RI).
