RIC to host discussion on Artbotics, Dec. 5
As part of Computer Science Education Week, Rhode Island College is sponsoring a talk by Holly Yanco on Artbotics – which explores the intersections among art, computer science, and robotics – on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 4:30 p.m. in Faculty Center South Dining Room.
Funded by the Rhode Island College Committee on College Lectures, the talk is free and open to the public.
Yanco, a professor in the Computer Science Department at UMass Lowell, founded the Robotics Lab and co-developed the Artbotics program, which combines art and computer science in a curriculum for high school and college students.
She was the principal investigator of the NSF-funded development of Pyro, a Python-based robotics curriculum. She has received teaching awards from UMass Lowell and MIT.
