Screening, Discussion of 'Stranger Inside,' Oct. 22, 25  

The Program in Africana Studies at Rhode Island College will present a screening and discussion of the film "Stranger Inside."

The film, directed by Cheryl Dunye, explores a mother daughter reunion set in the harsh reality of a women's correctional facility. Winner of various movie awards, the story primarily concerns issues of sex, violence, gender, and race.

The screening of "Stranger Inside" will take place on Monday, Oct. 22, at  6 p.m. in Clarke Science Room 128.

The film will be followed by a discussion presented by UC-Irvine Professor Jared Sexton titled “Shadow of an Image: Cheryl Dunye’s ‘Stranger Inside’” on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Adams Library's Fortes Room.
