Several RIC students have been selected as candidates for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship and Richard Maltby, Jr. Musical Theatre Award, while others received honors, all for their work in the production “The Drowsy Chaperone,” staged at RIC from April 12-15, 2012.

The candidates will compete in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) Region I festival in January 2013. Region I is comprised of New England and northeast New York.

Winning candidates will then have a chance to compete at the national festival in Washington, D.C.

RIC features four Mainstage productions a year, and two Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship candidates from each show are selected by the KCACTF for their outstanding work.
