Bannister to present ‘Graphics in Korea III,’ Jan. 19 to Feb. 2

Student work from the Visual Communications Dept. at Konkuk University.
“Graphics in Korea III,” on display in Bannister Gallery from Jan. 19 to Feb. 2, offers an opportunity to see unique student work from Korea, where traditional Korean culture melds with Western communication media.

The show will present portfolios from the graduating class of the Visual Communications Department at Konkuk University in Choongju, Korea.

The different forms of communication graphics presented include posters, package designs, book designs, advertisements and website designs, among others. Each work displayed was juried in June 2011 as part of the graduation approval process, and was exhibited at the University Gallery last fall.

An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 5-8 p.m.
RIC art professor Heemong Kim is curator of the show.

Gallery hours during exhibits are Tuesday through Friday, noon to 8 p.m. Exhibits and events are free and open to the public. Accessible to persons with disabilities. For information on event dates and exhibit opening receptions, check the website at or call (401) 456-9765.
