The RIC Winter Choral Concert will showcase the voices of the four RIC choral ensembles – the RIC Chorus, Chamber Singers, Women’s Chorus and Men’s Chorus – in performances of works by important composers throughout western music history as well as holiday favorites and non-traditional and lesser-known composers and pieces.

The event takes place on Friday, Dec. 9, at 8 p.m. in the Nazarian Center’s Sapinsley Hall.

The RIC Chorus will premiere a work it commissioned by local composer Michael Kregler – “A Choral Tapestry: Ten Settings After the Poetry of Emily Dickinson and Dorothy Parker.”

Carlo Gesualdo, Jan Pieterszon Sweelinck, John Rutter and Derek Hyde are among the composers to be presented.

Teresa Coffman will conduct the RIC Chorus, Chamber Singers and Women’s Chorus; Nicholas Laroche will conduct the Men’s Chorus. Christina Breindel is the pianist for all ensembles.

General admission is $10. Free for students, faculty and staff. For tickets, call (401) 456-8144. For more information, contact Teresa Coffman at (401) 456-9506.
