The only multi-media dance troupe in Rhode Island, LOSTWAX is known for its creation of a new and futuristic experience with dance that explores the relationship between live performance, digital culture and imagination.

Two RIC dance alums, Amanda DelPrete ’08 and Kimberly Johnson ‘09, will be performing in the event.

According to the LOSTWAX website, “‘BLINKING’ illuminates missed sight, splintering dance into tiny moving stills and the hallucinatory cinema of the back of the eyelid.”

The performance tracks the pattern and rhythm of one of the woman’s blinks, expressed musically and visually on stage through percussive elements, synchronized light and projected video on a movie-screen at the back of the stage.

Jamie Jewett, the creator of “BLINKING” and the director of the LOSTWAX dance company, has choreographed in the United States, Asia and Europe. He currently teaches at Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design. Many of Jewett’s popular works utilize cinematic elements that are paired with live dance performances.

General admission is $15, with discounts for groups and senior citizens. Student admission is $5. For more information, call (401) 456-9791.
