River North Chicago comes to RIC, Oct. 5
River North Chicago Dance Company
The River North Chicago Dance Company, led by artistic director Frank Chaves, will appear in a RIC Performing Art Series presentation in the Auditorium of Roberts Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m.
Highly skilled and emotive dancers, stimulating music, and bold choreography are the hallmarks of this jazz-based contemporary company. Core works by Chaves are complemented by an array of pieces by nationally and internationally renowned choreographers.
Founded in 1989 by four visionary dancers/choreographers, River North has established itself as one of Chicago's leading dance companies, and one of the most popular national touring companies.
"From high drama to low comedy, from torch songs to lyrical love duets, and from abstract modernism to jazzy ballroom style – River North ... is a contemporary company that can do it all, " Chicago Sun-Times writer Hedy Weiss said.
