Fruit Hill Farmers Market opens 4th season at Rhode Island College

The Fruit Hill Farmers Market at Rhode Island College will begin a new season on Friday, July 29, running from 3:30-6 p.m. It will continue each Friday through October 7. The market will be located once again in parking Lot Y on the Fruit Hill Avenue side of the campus.

“We are pleased to be working with our friends from the Fruit Hill Neighborhood Association in bringing fresh, local produce to our neighborhood,” said RIC President Nancy Carriuolo.

The new season will feature farms with a variety of produce, soaps, honey, bread and baked goods, homemade meals, eggs, chicken, herbs, natural sodas and seltzer, and much more.

The market accepts WIC, Senior Coupons, cash and EBT.

The Fruit Hill Farmers Market was started as a way to unite the college and the neighboring community and to support local growers, crafters, bakers and other vendors.

Among this year’s vendors are White Oak Farm, Noon’s Farm, My Wicked Garden, Ma’s Preserves, Nettie’s Kettle Corn, Palmieri’s Bakery, Fruit Hill Apiaries, Hickory Hill Farm and The Locals.
