Bannister Gallery to display work of graduate and undergrad students in May

RIC art students are will have their works featured in Bannister Gallery in two shows – a graduate student exhibition from May 5-11, and an undergraduate exhibition from May 16-21.

Opening receptions will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 (graduate students), and Monday, May 16 (undergraduates).

The annual student exhibitions are opportunities for student artists to demonstrate their many talents in the various studio disciplines offered at Rhode Island College.

All of the featured students have worked under the guidance of faculty members who challenge the aspiring artists to create art that explores original content and develops the skills and techniques for informed studio practice.

The professional programs of the Department of Art prepare students to engage the art world in a manner mindful of artistic traditions, while being focused on developing a voice moving forward in time.
