Sue Abbotson to discuss 'The Crucible' at Symposia on Arthur Miller, Oct. 10

A discussion by Sue Abbotson, RIC associate professor of English, will be part of the Barrington Stage Company's Symposia on Arthur Miller on Oct. 9 and 10 in Pittsfield, Mass., to coincide with the opening of the company’s production of “The Crucible.”

The discussion, “How The Crucible Came to be the Voice of American Conscience,” will be held Sunday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. in the Barrington Stage Company's Stage 2, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield. Abbotson, a noted Arthur Miller scholar, will talk about how Miller came to write the play, the public's initial reaction and how it has since grown in stature.

The presentation is free but reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (413) 236-8888.
