Ellen Weaver Paquette serves as the full time Director of the Career Development Center at Rhode Island College. She has earned recognition as a National Board Certified Counselor, Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) Master Trainer, Master Career Counselor, Master Career Development Practitioner, and Distance Certified Counselor. She has trained all GCDF personnel in Rhode Island and has offered many GCDF Instructor and e-learning training sessions in the United States. Her sense of humor and ability to facilitate the unknown has earned her the respect of her peers.
Moreover, Ellen has trained hundreds of school counselors in portfolio development, facilitated career development/counselor training through Perkins grants and has supervised work experience/cooperative education programs. Trained as a school teacher and as a school counselor, Ellen's advanced degrees in counseling psychology have made her a sought after instructor for both undergraduate teaching candidates and for graduate students. She presently teaches at Rhode Island College and in the Rehabilitation Counseling (CAGS program) at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI.
Loving a challenge, Ellen started her own career consulting business, Developpe, (www.careerconsultingconcepts.com) in 2006; her work and clients now span the United States. She enjoys multigenerational and multicultural approaches to career development with clients in schools, agencies, government, and business. In addition, her career blog, posted to the Newport Daily News, is a regular feature attracting readers to career development topics of general interest. She is a strong advocate of continuing education for career practitioners in both face to face and electronic formats.
