GAO Analyst Graduate Intern - Vacancy Announcement for Summer 2014
The Government Accountability Office is seeking graduate-level interns in locations nationwide. Learn how to conduct federal audits and program evaluations and apply that knowledge as part of a team. Assist GAO analysts in planning and conducting in-depth reviews of executive and legislative branch programs. Collect appropriate data, analyze the data, develop data-based findings and conclusions, and present the information both orally and in writing to diverse audiences.
Anticipated start date: May/June 2014. However, applicants that are available in spring 2014 may start as early as March 2014. Successful interns who complete a minimum of 400 hours may have an opportunity for a permanent position. The ability to convert to a permanent or term appointment with 400 hours of work experience acquired through GAO’s internship program is applicable to GAO ONLY.

Student Vacancy Announcement - USPS OIG
The US Postal Service Office of the Inspector General is seeking students enrolled in college/university programs to fill a Student Cooperative position in the Office of Investigations, Northeast Area Field Office (NEAFO), located in Woburn, MA. The successful candidate will provide a wide range of technical and administrative support to the Office of Investigations. This includes gathering data, conducting limited inquiries, assisting in case development, researching, assembling, compiling, and tabulating information for agent's use in developing search and arrest warrants, and further assisting agent's in evaluating evidence for administrative, civil, and criminal hearings or trials. The Student Cooperative Program is available for continuous employment throughout the year, while enrolled in school.
This position is being advertised at the Administrative Band level. The salary range for this position is $13-$17/hour.

Study Abroad in China
Dr. Shani Carter (RIC Management and Marketing Department) will lead a delegation of students to Beijing, China in May, 2014 for the U.S. - China Student Summit.
The Summit is a two-day experience where you will meet with other university students from the U.S. and China and explore the relationship between our two countries. It is the capstone of a 10-day travel experience, where you will also visit notable sites and landmarks in Shanghai and Beijing.
At the Summit, and during and following our visit to China, you will:
- Hear from notable Chinese and U.S. government and education officials
- Participate in one-on-one interactions with your Chinese peers
- Explore language, culture, politics, and business in this incredibly important country
- Have the opportunity to earn college credit
- Have the option to extend your stay to take classes at Peking University or participate in an internship with a Chinese company
The U.S.-China Student Summit is sponsored by WorldStrides Capstone programs, a Strategic Partner and the Exclusive Educational Travel Partner of the 100,000 Strong Foundation. The 100,000 Strong Foundation, launched in January 2013 by then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, is an offshoot of the U.S. Department of State’s “100,000 Strong Initiative,” which seeks to realize President Barack Obama’s call for 100,000 Americans to study in China by the end of 2014.
