The Rhode Island College Police Department maintains the HIGHEST RATIO of professionally experienced law enforcement personnel of the three state institutions of higher learning.

• ALL RIC Campus Police personnel are REQUIRED to be successful graduates of the Rhode Island Municipal Police Academy PRIOR to hiring
• ALL have served with municipal or state police agencies PRIOR TO BEING EMPLOYED by the college
• MOST have served previously in Supervisory, Staff, Command or Administrative capacities
• Unlike the remaining state institutions, Rhode Island College does not maintain a supportive staff of non-sworn personnel. ALL members of the department are classed as Police Officers.
