New Art for a New Facility: Annual Faculty Exhibition

December 4 - 19

Lisa Gabrielle Russell, Intonation (detail)

An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 5 - 7:30 p.m.

This exhibition honors the Art Department’s new home, Alex and Ani Hall, and the faculty members who bring it to life.

The artists on the Rhode Island College faculty are very much a part of the current aesthetic and formal dialogue in their various approaches to art making, including research-based and interdisciplinary methods that are at the core of best-practice models. As a result, students are encouraged by their example to
think across boundaries.

RIC’s faculty exhibit widely and are recipients of many prestigious awards, grants and residencies. Collectively, these distinguished artists bring a unique vision to the region’s cultural tapestry.

Represented are the works of 2-D faculty and adjuncts. Gallery walk-throughs with the exhibiting artists are included during the reception.

Gallery hours during exhibits are Tuesday through Friday, noon to 8 p.m. Exhibits and events are free and open to the public. Accessible to persons with disabilities. For information on event dates and exhibit opening receptions, check this website or call (401) 456-9765.
