Title IX

It is the policy of Rhode Island College to prohibit all forms of unlawful sexual harassment and sexual violence including sexual coercion and gender-based discrimination pursuant to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which states that “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” The college extends this requirement to all its operations and employment practices. Rhode Island College is committed to fostering an inclusive and safe academic and work environment; therefore, the college takes seriously all reports of sexual harassment or sexual violence.
