Academic Software Acquisition

Software for Electronic Classrooms and Computer Labs

User Support Services oversees software purchases for centrally-managed electronic classrooms and computer labs (Horace Mann Technology Center, Whipple 102, 104 and 105, Gaige 163, 165, and 168, Alger 101 and 102, Fogarty Life Science 103a, and Horace Mann 182). The acquisition procedures described here do not apply to software purchased for departmental facilities. Requests for software for centrally-managed facilities are vetted through academic review by faculty, department chairs, deans, and the Vice President of Academic Affairs. User Support Services also reviews academic software purchases evaluating licensing agreements, compatibility, usability, and redundancy.

To request the purchase and/or installation of software in USS facilities, please fill in the Academic Software Request Form below. After obtaining the required signatures, please submit the form to User Support Services. USS will evaluate the software and obtain licensing information before the request is submitted to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for final approval.

Please Note: All Windows software used in our academic labs and electronic classrooms must be Microsoft Windows 7, 64 bit certified, so please make sure that the software you are requesting will run on MS Windows 7, 64 bit. Apple software should be Yosemite 10.10.5 compatible.
