WPRI & WNAC Invite Students Pursuing Degrees in Broadcast Television or Digital Media to Apply for Minority Scholarship and Training Program
WPRI and WNAC’s parent company, LIN MEDIA, is accepting applications for its Minority Scholarship and Training Program and will award one broadcast television scholarship/internship and one digital media scholarship/internship in April 2013, to commence in Summer 2013.
LIN Media's Minority Scholarship and Training Program is an integral part of the Company's strategy to strengthen its talent base and deepen connections within its local communities by building on the cultural diversity of its workforce. LIN Media has been awarding two‐year scholarships to ambitious students since 1998.
Each student will receive a two-year scholarship for up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per year, which can be used toward tuition, fees, books, and room and board. In addition, LIN Media will provide each student with hands-on training through a paid internship program at one of its television stations around the country. The Minority Scholarship recipients will be assigned full-time positions at LIN Media upon graduation and successful completion of the training program.

Tech Collective invites students to apply for the Lighthouse Computer Services/Tech Collective $1,000 scholarship, established to recognize a college/high school student who will pursue a degree in computer technology at a RI college or university, have a connection to the US Military, and demonstrate commitment, dedication, strong academic record, leadership, and a determination to gain a college education. The Aspiring Educator Scholarship Returns!
The Aspiring Educator Scholarship is designed to further the education of individuals who aspire to work in the field of special education.
You could win one of FIVE $1000 scholarships!
Students attending an accredited institution of higher education in the U.S. and majoring in a state approved special education or related service program are eligible.
Scholarship applicants must:
- Complete the online scholarship application
- Upload a copy of college transcripts
- Submit an essay describing "How will you contribute to the field of special education?"
Applications are now being accepted. Deadline is November 1, 2013.

Scholarships for Service
Scholarships for Service is a statewide AmeriCorps program which offers $1,175 for qualified educational expenses to students who complete 300 hours of service between September 5, 2012 and June 15, 2013.
